Tides

The Brittany coasts live very powerful tidal currents daily, even if it is very beautiful and there is no wind. The sea retreats twice a day and gives way to algae, shells, fish and shellfish trapped in ponds where the birds will feed.

The climate

Contrary to what is said about Brittany, it rains less than in central French regions. However, the westerly wind characterizes the mild and humid ocean climate. It averages between 11 and 12 degrees in winter. In summer, the sea air tempers the heat. That’s why it’s particularly mild all year round.

The Peach

At low tide, one can practice fishing on foot to collect shells, crustaceans and bouquets.

Fly fishing can be done in the rivers.

Flowers

In Brittany, vegetation consists mainly of heather and gorse heaths. The coastline is yellow or mauve. The sweetness of winter favors the flowering of camellias and mimosas in February. In summer, it is the hydrangeas that dominate. Hence the Hydrangea Festival in Perros-Guirec in August.
